GULF COAST SOCIAL SERVICES
Home and Community Based Services
Living independently is only a dream for some members of our communities. The elderly, people with disabilities, and even some of our veterans struggle with daily tasks. Too often, they have to live in a nursing home or other institutional setting just to get the help they need.
Our Home and Community based services can help with these problems. Read more below to see how our trained caregivers can help people regain their lives and live more independently in their own homes.
*Please note that some programs may not be available in certain regions. Check with your local region for specific programs.
Services for People with Disabilities
People living with disabilities are often some of the most vulnerable. But with help, they have proven to be some of the most resilient, as well.
Our services are designed to help them be more independent and live fuller lives.
Elderly Care Services
Sadly, some elderly in our communities find themselves on the margins of society. They can be frail and lack the essential services needed to preserve their dignity and humanity. We ensure the following services are implemented well, so our elderly know they are cared for and valued.
Veterans Care Services
Our military men and women sacrificed for our country. Now, we want to be there for them. That’s why we are authorized by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (link to https://www.va.gov/) to provide veterans with skilled, personal care attendants. Once referred by the VA with a documented need for personal care services, we can step in and provide the help needed.
All of our veterans’ services are part of the VHA Medical Benefits Package. Contact your local health clinic to inquire about referrals. For more information, visit https://www.vets.gov/facilities.
Youth and Family Services
The next generation will determine how well our communities continue to thrive and grow. But growing up in today’s world can be challenging. So, we provide experienced staff, foster parents, and volunteers that offer mentoring, training, and guidance. Their efforts help ensure a bright and productive future for the children in our communities.
We address various challenges children, and their families face through in-home services, community outings, and classroom settings. These efforts help youths to thrive, recognize opportunities, and pursue them.
